Great joint for a men's cut. I've been to all of the others nearby and this has the vibe that's best for me personally (Not ancient gents and not cranky punk rock). Team was friendly and cut was great.

Always a pleasure getting my hair cut and colored here. Shannon is so talented and lovely to be around. They have a very nice outdoor area to get your haircut and everyone wears masks, including those getting hair cuts. I send all my friends here and cannot recommend them enough!!! What are you waiting for??! Go get a haircut!

Came back to The Ave after my prior Barber changed careers and was helped by Dee. Deep was wonderful. Very thorough and did a great job cutting my hair and trimming my beard. I look forward to going back to Dee

I've gotten my hair cut by Jose a couple of times and brought my mom in a week ago to cut her hair for the first time. Jose ALWAYS takes his time and pays attention to detail--always! He always leaves my thick, wavy hair looking like perfection, it's a good hair day every day. Thank you, Jose, for the beautiful work and always being so helpful and nice. 😊

Started coming here in Sept. 2020 on a referral from a bank teller after my walking-distance barber shop refused to acknowledge (let alone follow or respect) any of the COVID safety procedures/guidelines that were supposed to be part of the conditions for reopening after the March/April lockdowns, and I don't think I will ever look back. The shop itself and its outdoor patio are *vastly* cleaner and more comfortable than the other one ever dreamed about being, and the staff are *considerably* more likeable. Shannon is a national treasure, and does a great job. Parking I suppose could be a problem during peak beach crowd season, but I haven't had any issues between 11 and 3 on weekdays. Cash or Venmo only these days.

The Ave came recommended by a local friend when we unexpectedly got stuck in California earlier this year. My son (6) and I both had haircuts and the service and haircuts were great. Mike and Shannon were both excellent. I would highly recommend the Ave and would not hesitate to go back should we be in the area in the future. Just to note, this review is overdue, we were there in July 2020. Also, this is a barbershop who will do kids' cuts, not a specialist kids' barbershop; our son sits quietly when getting his haircut and he had a great experience talking a bit with Mike. I would certainly recommend the Ave for kids cuts - probably the best cut my son has had - but if your kid is wiggly then maybe a larger shop with more kid-related distractions might be a better bet.

Not worth your time. Drove all the way down here from studio city for a rec about Autumn. She kept me waiting for half an hour, not responsive by call or text. Completely ignored me when I got to the salon. Will not let me know she's late. Waste of 2 hours but at least I'll save someone else the trouble.
